Mt. Emmerich & Cathedrals Ski Support

Plans were laid out that a group of 4 locals would get dropped in the Cathedral cirque, just outside of town, around Friday, March 25. When that day rolled around the weather was cooperating and we had a window to get the group in.

They were to stay for two nights and come out of the mountains two days later.

Approaching the Cathedral and Mt. Emmerich cirque. Landing just above the lower icefall, located in the picture just below the silver stabilizer bar.

Drake felt comfortable setting 53 Charlie down under good conditions!

Two chutes of the upper cirque.

Many types of skiing to be done in the Cathedrals cirque. Consistent 30-35 degree glacier runs for 2,000′, or 1,000′ 45-50 degree chutes.

On the day for departure the skies were clear and calm. I could fly all day on days like today! What a tremendous place to live and get to explore.
